• Being apart of the 2019 volleyball state championship

Personal Statement Essay:

There are many different events in my life that have been great accomplishments in my life that have taken place so far. Though there is one main event that is my greatest accomplishment, and it relates to my life in sports.  This event helped to show new relations that I have found and everything that went with it. 

The event that was a big accomplishment was this past year in 2019 my volleyball team became state champions. There are a couple of reasons why this is an achievement, the first is for the previous two years we were so close to winning the state the title and reclaiming it for the first time since 2004. We came in third the first year and then in second place the year after, and the time that we got second was the year that everyone thought that we were going to win, but it didn’t happen that way. 

Although I think it was a blessing in disguise, it pushed our team this year to have even more of a drive to make it back to the championship. Everyone worked harder than I have seen before, we became closer as a team, we became a family.  During this season, relations with the others were stronger than any other season, because we found a common connection through our love of Pitch Perfect. 

Through this team, I have learned what it means to be apart of a family and have lasting bonds that will stay for a long time. Even though winning the state championship was the greatest accomplishment, the memories and friendships made are the things that I am going to carry with me forever. Along with the memories and friendships, I am also taking away leadership qualities and a better understanding of how to help someone when they need it with me. Volleyball has given me many things in order to go forward in the world and be more prepared.
