Mara, Grace, and I for our project, we chose to head into the Pemberly Place assisted living facility, where Mara’s grandpa lives, and to help brighten the resident’s day with some one-on-one interaction and crafts. We thought it would be a good idea to do a physical, in-person activity so that not only could we interact with the residents, but so they could interact with each other. Especially since contact with each other and their loved ones have been limited due to COVID. We figured by going in that would help with the loneliness that comes with being separated from loved ones and not getting to do things that they have been used to in the past. Because I know when my grandma gets visitors while she is in a nursing home in Hastings it makes her whole day and basically her whole week. So that is what we wanted to do for the residents at Pemberly Place.
